In no particular order, six highlights from the comprehensive foodwatching and drinkswatching new opening reports are:
Tasca, London
This pop-up restaurant, owned by Head Chef Josh Dallaway and Sommelier Sinead Murdoch, is putting down roots for a year at the new wine bar Câv in Bethnal Green, London.
The year long residency has a menu that will evolve with the seasons. The food is based around the couple's travels and is inspired by the food of Portugal and Spain; it focuses on the different regions and produce of the two countries.
The wine comes from 80% female-founded vineyards, with half of the wines also coming from Spain and Portugal.

Nono Wine Bar, Leeds
A new laid back wine bar that offers terroir wines from Barrique Fine Wines, a local wine merchant. There will be 60 covers with a small retail space for off-sales.
Food is offered from Bao Bros 23, serving award-winning street food; the food will be small plates during the week with a six-course tasting menu on Friday and Saturdays.

Sharpies Pizza & Cocktails, Chicago
Sharpies specialises in Detroit squares that were born out of the Covid-19 pandemic. Taking three days to ferment and topped with a mix of Wisconsin brick and mozzarella cheese. Toppings are far from normal, with bacon, pineapple, goat cheese and sambal, or caramelised onion, cheese fondue and garlic crumbs.
Drinks include draught cocktails, all made with their signature Atomic Juice base.

Wild Legs, Brisbane
This new wine bar from the team behind the Adela Wine Bar in Albion will focus on wild, organic and biodynamic wines. Made with rare grape varietals from Australia and around the globe, showcasing sustainability and minimal intervention practices.
The menu has been created by Chef Jean-Antoine Jeffrey and Priscila Hoerau, opening with small plates to start, with larger plates and weekly specials soon to be introduced.

Pasta Rosa, Sydney
Rosa was created by Ben and Emily Calabro a brother and sister team who also run Quick Brown Fox Café. This new venue is inspired by neighbourhood pasta bars in Amalfi.
The new menu is created by Chef Daniel Grey from The Apollo and Kira Sherry from Alberto's Lounge. It features simple, Nonna style meals that are a blend of traditional and modern food, all at affordable prices.

Old Mates, New York
Old Mates is an Aussie style pub in the heart of the Financial District in NYC. Expat Australian hospitality operators, Eddy Buckingham and Nick Stone, have partnered with comedians Andy Lee and Hamish Blake. After 15-months of renovations they have opened an authentic Australian pub, set over three floors, there is also a small beer garden.
The drinks menu features Australian beers, spirits and an extensive Australian wine list, every cocktail has an Australian spirit base. The food menu is based on a traditional Aussie pub menu with parmas, fish and chips and pies and Pavlova for dessert.
